Grey's Anatomy was introduced on the ABC network on March 27, 2005. Since then, it has received accolades for it's gripping drama and storyline. The show has received countless awards and nominations.
The show focuses on the life of Dr. Meredith Grey, one of the surgical interns at Seattle Grace Hospital. Dr. Grey faces severe internal conflict as she struggles to step out of the shadow created by her mother, Ellis Grey, who is a renowned surgeon. She is supported by a wide range of doctors, most of whom have a few skeletons in their closets. Her roomates, Dr. Stevens and Dr. O'Malley, each have a few internal issues. Stevens is dealing with giving up her daughter for adoption, while O'Malley has to deal with both his infatuation with Dr. Grey and his fight with syphilis. Dr. Yang is a conservative woman who had a strong Jewish upbringing, but she was crushed when she had to abort her pregnancy for medical reasones. Dr. Karev has to deal with the memories of his abusive father. Dr. Bailey is the resident surgeon who provides tough love to the five interns she manages. Dr. Torres is the orthopedic surgeon who is in love with Dr. O'Malley, and at one point lived in the basement of the hospital. Dr. Shepherd is the infamous Dr. McDreamy who contributes to the sexual tension existing among the cast.
Grey's Anatomy continues to please it's fans with a great mix of drama and medicine. The many interesting and unique cases that these doctors deal with greatly add to the appeal of the show, and keeps their fans coming back for more. It looks like this show will continue to thrive for a long time.
